Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Airport to Arusha
Welcome to Best of Tanzania Safari. You will meet and greet with our company representative on arrival at the airport for pick up. He will then drive you to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can take a brief tour around Arusha. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Game drive in Arusha National Park
Your 10 days safari begins with a visit to Arusha National Park. After your breakfast, the driver will pick you from your hotel and you hit the road to Arusha National Park. Relatively small but with amazing scenic views, sightings and breathtaking landscapes. Home to the second highest peak in Tanzania, Mt. Meru.
Embark on a game drive in Arusha NP with chances of spotting giraffes, zebras, buffalos, monkeys, elephants, warthogs, bushbucks, leopards (though rarely seen) and different species of birds. Later in the evening, drive back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Cultural Tourism Experience in Mulala Village
After breakfast, drive to Mulala Village, a typical rural setting on the slopes of Mt. Meru surrounded by scenic views and landscapes. You will be in the humble hands of the women of Agape Women’s Group who will take us through a glimpse of various economic activities whose aim is to fight poverty among its members. Guided tours to coffee and banana farms / plantations and bee-keeping experiences. The women will explain their farming methods and show you the different economic activities they do like cheese making, sewing, bee keeping projects among others.
The views of the rolling plains in the distance are just wonderful. You may also have a walk in the forest reserve. After a good lunch prepared by the same rural ladies composed of typical Tanzanian cuisine, you will then drive back to Arusha. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Your wildlife safari proceeds to Tarangire National Park. After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, your driver will drive you to Tarangire National Park with a break off for lunch en-route.
You will have an afternoon game drive in the home of thousands of African elephant herds, famous for its baobab trees and over 500 species of birds. Other animals to look out for in Tarangire NP include: the big cats (lions, cheetahs and leopards), hyenas, the oryx, gerenuk, zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos and more. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park
Famous for its tree climbing lions, Lake Manyara National Park is an exciting park to visit. After your breakfast, you will depart Tarangire NP for Lake Manyara National Park for thrilling game viewing experiences.
You will have your packed lunch with you as you embark on an afternoon game drive on arrival at the park. Expect to see elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, impalas, giraffes, hippos and thousands of flamingos that flock the lake seasonally and other species of birds. After the game drive experience, drive out of the park and proceed to your camp / lodge for check in, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Karatu
Full day of cultural and community tourism experiences. Your driver will pick you up after your breakfast and take you to the nearby Mto wa Mbu Village where you will find a local guide waiting. Visit rice farms, banana plantations (get to taste the sweet fresh yellow bananas) and an open-air studio to marvel at lovely tinga-tinga paintings expressed by a great sense of humour by the youth.
After a delicious locally made lunch and a lovely time spent with the local community residents, you will continue with your journey to Karatu via the scenic and picturesque escarpment drive way. Arrival in the early evening for check in, dinner and overnight saty at your camp / lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater tour – Game drive
Time to explore one of the worlds’ natural wonders, Ngorongoro Crater found in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a fresh morning breakfast, you will drive to the crater rim and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a tour of the crater floor that is home to a vast number of animals (over 25,000 animals) and different bird species. You will carry packed lunch as this is going to be a whole day of adventure in the crater. Marvel at its scenic greenery, picturesque escarpments and its rich wildlife collection.
Ascend out of the crater in the late afternoon and drive back to your camp / lodge for a relaxing evening. Diner and overnight stay at your camp/lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Excitement as we transfer to the great wilderness of Serengeti National Park. Famous for the great annual wildebeest migration, a natural world wonder that draws many tourists to this park alongside its vast population of wildlife that calls Serengeti home.
After breakfast at your camp / lodge. Check out with packed picnic lunches and drive to Serengeti NP with a brief informative stop at the Olduvai Gorge where some of the earliest archaeological remains of human evolution were found. Retreat and proceed to Serengeti National Park for an introductory afternoon game drive after which you will drive to your camp / lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Full day game drive
You can opt to carry packed picnic lunch. You will have at a designated picnic spot for a full day game drive in the wild. Or choose to have a lunch break back at your camp / lodge. Animals in the Serengeti include the wildebeests, lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, black rhinos (rare sightings), gazelles, giraffes, zebras, elands, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes and much more plus different species of birds.
Drive to different corners of the park at different times of the day. For chances to spot the different animal species that inhabit the wilderness of Serengeti. With a little bit of luck, you might be able to witness the great migration happen. (Depends on the time of year you have visited the park). After the days’ activity, drive back to your camp / lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Drive back to Arusha
Last day of your 10 days safari in Tanzania. Take your time to enjoy your breakfast as you reminisce on the activities of the previous day. Take one more game drive as you drive out of the park back to Arusha with lunch en-route. You will be dropped at the airport for your flight back home or at your hotel in Arusha.
