Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Airport pick up and Transfer to Arusha
Our company representative will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel / lodge in Arusha where you will spend the night. Depending on your time of arrival, you can opt to go for a short tour of Arusha. It is a fascinating city with a lot to offer or you can choose to stay at you hotel and relax as you enjoy the available amenities. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel / lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
The driver / guide will meet you at your accommodation facility after your breakfast and drive you to Tarangire National Park, your first wildlife adventure stop. The park is name after the Tarangire River, the only source of water for thousands of migrating wildlife in the region during the dry season (June-October). The concentration of game during this time of the year in Tarangire is exceptional. You will go for an afternoon game drive upon arrival with lunch en-route.
Higher chances of spotting the big cats: lions, leopards, cheetahs, various primates, rhinos, expect to see large herds of elephants, zebras, gazelles, buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, pythons, hartebeests, elands, impalas and different bird species.
Day 3: Depart Tarangire for Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast and a mid-morning game drive in Tarangire NP, your driver will drive you to Lake Manyara National Park, the home to the famous tree climbing lions, a rare behavior for most lions and a thrilling sight to see. Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, expect amazing views along the way.
Embark on a game drive upon arrival at the park. Its flora and fauna is diverse and presents amazing views and sightings. Expect to see different bird species including pink flamingos, yellow-billed storks, herons, pelicans and more, primates like baboons, other mammals like zebras, impalas, wildebeests, hippos, large concentrations of elephants, buffalos, Kirk’s dik-dik and many more. After the game drive, you will drive to your camp / lodge for check in, dinner and overnight stay.
Days 4 & 5: Serengeti National Park Exploration
After breakfast at your camp / lodge in Lake Manyara NP, you will check out and drive to the infamous Serengeti National park where you’ll spend the next 2 nights. The Serengeti offers some of the best game viewing opportunities and experiences in Tanzania. Being home to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration, it is a popular tourist destination in Tanzania. If you’re visiting at the right time, and you are in the right place, at the right time, you will have the ultimate opportunity to witness the great migration happen or watch as millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras and gazelles prepare for the migration.
On day 2 in Serengeti, you will have a whole day of game viewing opportunities starting off with an early pre-sunrise game drive to watch the park come to life and for chances to spot the big cats as they are more mobile in the coolers hours of the day. Breakfast, picnic lunch and more game drives around the endless plains of the great Serengeti NP. Animals in Serengeti NP: elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, buffalos, rhinos (rare, endangered), lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and more. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will have a mid-morning game drive in Serengeti NP after your breakfast and later on you will drive out the national park setting off to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the world’s largest inactive, unbroken and unfilled volcanic caldera, the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, have an afternoon game drive around the crater rim and later in the afternoon drive to your camp / lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay. Day 7: Exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater floor and drive to Arusha
The Ngorongoro Crater is a world famous natural wonder that is home to almost 30,000 animals. A vast population of different bird species offering incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. A descent to the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a game drive is an experience of a lifetime. You can expect to see all the members of the Big 5 that is the lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and black rhinos (endangered) alongside warthog, wildebeest, zebra, hippo, hyenas, cheetahs, gazelles and many more. You will have your lunch at an allocated site. Later in the afternoon, ascend to the crater rim and drive to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, the driver will pick you and drive you to your hotel. Or beach resort where you will spend the next 2 nights. There is a range of accommodation options on the island. Days 9 to 12: Zanzibar Island
With its beautiful white sand beaches, clear azure waters and colorful coral reefs. Zanzibar is the perfect destination for relaxation after days of safari in the national parks. You can choose to be passive and just relax at your resort enjoying its amenities or be active and explore the island of Zanzibar.
Plenty of excursions that you can indulge in. Visit the Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Prison Island and the Spice and Cultural tours to local villages. For the more adventurous, you can go canoe riding, hiking, wind surfing, diving, snorkeling with chances of seeing dolphins, green turtles and more marine life. Dinner and overnight stay at your beach hotel / beach resort of your choice.
Day 13: Flight back home
After a delicious morning breakfast with great views of the ocean. Check out of your rooms and the driver will drop you at the airport in Zanzibar. Catch your flight back home.
