Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Early morning breakfast and pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and transfer to the famous Masai Mara National Park, Kenya’s most visited Game Park. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Rift Valley with a brief stop at the view point. Lunch en-route. Arriving the Mara in the late afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive of the 10 days safari. Welcome to magical Kenya. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Days 2 & 3: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve
Two whole days of thrilling game viewing adventures in Masai Mara National Reserve. With abundance of wildlife which includes well represented predators (lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals), thousands of wildebeests, antelopes, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, hippos, primates (monkeys and baboons), crocodiles and different bird species, these 2 days are bound to be action packed.
Optional activities on these days include a hot air balloon safari and a visit to the Maasai Village for cultural and community experiences. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Early breakfast and transfer to the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park at the floor of the Great Rift Valley protecting the famous soda lake, Lake Nakuru that is a home to hundreds of different species of birds and the only park where you are 100 percent sure to see the endangered rhino species. Arrive in the afternoon, you will have your lunch and then go for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 5: Drive to Amboseli National Park
Pre-breakfast game drive for chances to see more wildlife that you might have missed the previous day, especially the predators as they are more active in the cooler hours of the day. Watch the sun brighten up the park at sunrise. Drive back to your lodge / camp for breakfast and then depart for the scenic Amboseli National Park.
Lunch en-route arriving Amboseli NP in the late afternoon, check in and relax at your lodge / camp for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 6: Game drives in Amboseli National Park
Explore the picturesque Amboseli National Park today with rewarding game drives across the park while enjoying the scenic view of the highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro further at the border in Tanzania.
High chances of spotting the Big 5 (elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and the rare rhinos), zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, antelopes, hyenas and monkeys that inhabit the different habitats in the park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 7: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, exit Amboseli National Park for Tsavo Conservation Area, the largest protected area in Central and East Africa. You will have one more game drive as you leave the park driving towards Tsavo West National Park, the second largest park in Kenya.
On arrival in the park, as you drive towards your lodge / camp for check in, do a game drive and visit the Mzima Springs, an oasis in the vast park with exotic fish species, hippos and crocodiles among other wildlife species, continue to your lodge for lunch and after an afternoon game drive to explore more of Tsavo West National Park for chances to spot the Big 5. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 8: Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park
Time to check out the largest national park in Kenya, Tsavo East National Park. Generally flat and with drier plains than its counterpart in the West. After breakfast, exit Tsavo West with one last game drive entering into Tsavo East National Park. Highlights: abundant wildlife, Lugards falls, Mudanda rocks, Yatta Plateau, Gallana River, several dams and pools. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 9: Tsavo East National Park Exploration
Wake up in this vast wilderness and prepare to explore it to the last species. Full day game viewing adventure. Expect to see hundreds of elephants, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, lions, zebras, leopards, hyenas, waterbucks, rhinos, giraffes, kudu, gazelles, baboons, hartebeests, elands, mongoose and much more. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 10: Departure
Final day in the wilderness. Early morning breakfast and drive back to Nairobi or Mombasa to catch your flight back home.
