Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
Our company drive will pick you from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi after your breakfast and you start your journey to the infamous Masai Mara National Reserve. First stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point to marvel at the scenic landscape and picturesque greenery, take some pictures and continue with your journey to the wilderness.
Arrive in time for lunch, after which you will head out for an introductory late afternoon game drive in the Mara plains. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / camp.
Day 2: Full day game drive
Pre-sunrise game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve for chances to spot the predators (hyenas, jackals) and big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs) on their morning hunt or feasting on their kill. Watch the morning sunrise brighten up the park as the day unfolds. Drive back for a hot breakfast at your lodge / camp.
After breakfast, with your packed lunch boxes, head out for full day game drive adventures in the Mara plains with a chance of witnessing the great migration happen if you are in the park at the right time of the year, in right place and at the right time.
Animals to spot this day include thousands of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos, crocodiles, elands, topis among others accompanied by different species of beautiful birds. Retreat from the activity and drive back to your lodge / camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha
Early morning breakfast plus one more game drive in the Masai Mara NR. As you prepare to exit the park for the fresh water Lake Naivasha. It will be a long drive to Lake Naivasha. So you will have a stop break to have lunch and then continue your journey arriving in the later afternoon. Check in at your lodge / camp and enjoy a relaxing evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park
Have and early morning breakfast. Then head out to the fresh waters of Lake Naivasha for a refreshing morning boat ride to spot submerged hippos, crocodiles, different bird species and some other wildlife on the shores like buffalos. Thereafter, go for a guided walking safari on the beautiful Crescent Island for about an hour. Animals to spot include giraffes, zebras, and antelopes among others. Retreat and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch.
After lunch, embark on a late afternoon game drive towards the famous Lake Nakuru. For chances of spotting the graceful Flamingos (during their season) among other species of birds like pelicans, cormorants, storks, herons and egrets. Animals include, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, baboons, water bucks, the big cats and more. Retreat and drive to your lodge / camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Exit to Nairobi
Pre-sunrise game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park for chances of spotting the predators that call this park home. Drive back to your lodge / camp for breakfast, check out and prepare for your journey back to Nairobi with more game viewing opportunities as you exit the park. Drop off at your hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
