Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Arusha
Meet and greet with our company representative at Kilimanjaro or Arusha International Airport who will drive you to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight stay. Welcome to Tanzania.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National park
After your breakfast at the hotel, your driver will pick you up and you start your safari adventure with a drive to Tarangire National Park which is famous for its vast herds of African elephants and the massive baobab trees.
Upon arrival at the park, you will embark on your first game drive in search of the big game and different bird species that call this park home. Animals in Tarangire NP include the zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, the oryx and rare gerenuks and with some luck you can spot the big cats like the elusive leopard, lions and cheetahs. Retreat from the game drive and drive to your camp / lodge for check in, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Pre-breakfast game drive for chances to spot the big cats (lion, leopard and cheetah) and other predators on their morning kill as you also watch the park come to life. Drive back to your camp / lodge for breakfast after which you will set off for Ngorongoro Conservation Area crossing the Great Rift Valley on the way with scenic views and picturesque landscapes to enjoy. Set off with lunch boxes for your picnic lunch.
On arrival in Ngorongoro, you will drive to the crater rim, take a brief stop at a view point to take in the thrilling view of the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, do not forget to take some amazing shoots. You will then descend into the Crater for a game viewing experience on the floor of this natural wonder with amazingly rich flora and fauna and home to almost 30,000 different animals and different species of birds.
Expect to see all the members of the Big 5 African animals (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos), zebras, gazelles, antelopes, wildebeests, hippos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and many more. Retreat and drive to your camp / lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Wake up early in the morning for a delicious breakfast, check out and set off further in the wilderness to Serengeti National Park, one of the most visited and popular parks in Tanzania, land of the big cats and home to the breathtaking Great Wildebeest annual Migration.
Embark on a game drive upon arrival in the endless plains of the Serengeti. Get a little taste of this amazing wilderness. Later in the afternoon, you will drive to your camp / lodge, check in and have an evening of relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 5: Full day exploration of Serengeti National Park
Starting off with a pre-sunrise game drive is a good option on this day as it provides chances of spotting the nocturnal species and the predators (lions, leopards, jackals, cheetahs, hyenas) as they feast on their morning kill. Drive back to the camp / lodge freshen up and enjoy your breakfast.
With a packed picnic lunch, set out again for game drives around the Serengeti plains. To spot the different animals that call it home. Depending on the time of the year of your trip. You might get a chance to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration happen in front of your eyes. Millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras take part is this annual wildlife wonder. Other animals to spot include giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos (rare sightings), elands, waterbucks, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles and different species of birds. Drive back for dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 6: Domestic Flight to Zanzibar
After an early morning breakfast. You will check out and have one last game drive. You drive to the Seronera Airstrip in Central Serengeti for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, our company representative will pick you up and drive you to your beach hotel / resort on the Kiwengwa beach.
Days 07 – 09: Zanzibar Beach Vacation
After your wildlife game viewing extravaganza. It is time to enjoy the sun and white sand of Zanzibar beaches and all that Zanzibar has to offer. Relax, take beach walks, play beach games, enjoy the available amenities at your beach hotel / resort. Do whatever makes your day worthwhile. Optional activities on the different days include: the Spice Island tour, Stone town tour, Prison Island tour, The Dolphin tours or a full day of The Safari Blue tour. At extra costs
Day 10: Flight back home
Wake up to the cool breeze from the azure blue Indian Ocean and the sound of the waves. Have a delicious breakfast at your beach hotel / beach resort. You will drive to Stone town for last minute souvenir shopping. Or you can choose stay around the beach resort. Till time to transfer to the Airport for your flight back home.
