Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
Our company representative will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi and you embark on your journey to the famous home of the Great Wildebeest Migration, Masai Mara National Reserve.
Enjoy the view of the scenic landscapes of Kenya as you drive to the Mara plains reaching in the afternoon in time for lunch. Check in at your lodge, and thereafter head out for an afternoon introductory game drive that will get you well acquainted with the residents of the park. Dinner and overnight stay at you lodge.
Day 2: Game drives in Masai Mara
Wake up to a fresh morning breakfast and then prepare for a game viewing extravaganzain the wilderness. You will embark on an early morning game drive. Keep a keen eye out as this is a good time to spot the big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs) and other predators (hyenas, jackals) feasting on their morning prey. You will traverse all corners of the park and spot the different wildlife including the elephants, zebras, buffalos, gazelles, topis, warthogs, lions, leopards, giraffes and much more. Drive back to your lodge / camp for lunch and some relaxation.
Thereafter, head out again for a late afternoon game drive. You will continue your drive towards the Mara River for a chance to watch the famous migration. You just have to be there at the right time and be at the right place. If you have the time and patience, you can wait as you enjoy the sight of the hippos, crocodiles and other animals and birds in and around the Mara River. After the day’s adventure, head back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Nairobi and Fly to Entebbe
Pre-sunrise game drive as early as 6am for chances to catch up with some nocturnal animals and predator-prey action. Watch the park come to life while on this morning game drive as the sunrises and see the how the animals start their days in the wild. Drive back to your lodge / camp for a delicious breakfast, thereafter check out and drive to Nairobi.
Arriving in the afternoon, you will have your lunch as you wait for your evening flight to Entebbe, Uganda. On reaching Entebbe Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up to a beautiful morning in the pearl of Africa. After your breakfast, very early in the morning, your driver / guide will pick you from your hotel and embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the South Western part of Uganda.
First stopover at the Equator line, then in Mbarara for a delicious lunch. Continue with your journey as you marvel at the scenic rolling hills of South Western Uganda. Arriving in the evening, you will do nothing but check in and relax. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
This is a special day dedicated to the famous Mountain Gorillas. After your breakfast with your packed lunches, you will head to the park’s headquarters. For briefing about the gorilla trekking activity that you are about to take part in. You will be allocated to a gorilla family group, then off you go into the Bwindi Forest to search for these gentle giants.
The trek will take up to 2-8 hours. Depending on the movements of the gorillas as they do not stay in on place. After the hour, trek back to the starting point where your driver will be waiting to pick you up and drive you back to your lodge for relaxation. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge or you can opt to go for a nature walk or visit the Batwa Community. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 6: Departure
Wake up early in the morning, have your breakfast and embark on your journey back to Kampala / Entebbe. You will be dropped at your hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
