From the top of the Barranco Wall, the view is stunning. Take a short break and some beautiful pictures before crossing a series of hills and valleys to descend sharply into Karanga Valley the last water point. The wind and coldness at this elevation and time of day can be extreme making it a physically challenging trek at this point. You ascend while taking frequent short breaks for some deep breaths till you make it to Stella Point (5,756 m) at around dawn. Quite an accomplishment deserves a short break and then continue your ascent to the very top, the Uhuru peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft.).
Time spent at the top will greatly depend on the weather condition at that time. Take pictures, drink some water and then you are good to go down the mountain. Start your descend back to Barafu camp for a much deserved rest and a hot lunch before you continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate
On our last day after a delicious breakfast, you continue the descent to Mweka Gate and collect your summit certificates. Congratulations, you made it.
