Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
The company driver / guide will pick you up very early in the morning around 6:00am to start your long road trip to Tsavo East National Park, the largest national park in Kenya. As you enter the park, you will have a game drive passing via the Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock for game viewing of the elephants and other animals that gather around here. Continue to your lodge / camp for check in and lunch.
After, head out for more game viewing opportunities on an afternoon game drive. Expect to see Tsavo lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, elands, kudus, waterbucks, dik-diks, impala, jackal, mongoose, zebras, hyenas, gazelle, velvet monkeys, bat-eared fox, hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 2: Game drive in Tsavo East & transfer to Tsavo West
Rise with the birds and go for a pre-sunrise game drive in Tsavo East National Park. This game drive avails chances of spotting the park’s nocturnal animals and predators on a morning hunt or feast. Watch the park come to life at sunrise and the animals come into a new day. Drive back to your lodge / camp for breakfast, check out and prepare to transfer to the second largest park in Kenya, Tsavo West National Park with a mid-morning game drive en-route.
Have lunch on arrival and then an afternoon game drive in Tsavo West NP, comprised of open grasslands, acacia woodlands and belts of riverine vegetation, definitely more colorful than Tsavo East NP.
Spot tsavo lions, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, cheetah, leopards, hyenas, buffalos, zebras, impalas, diverse plant and different bird species including the ostriches. You will also visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary to see the endangered black rhinos. Completing your Big 5 African animals list. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Last day – Departure
After your breakfast, you will check out of your room. With one more game drive in Tsavo West National Park for more game sightings. A visit to Mzima Springs, an oasis in the vast park.
