Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

The company driver / guide will pick you from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi and drive you to Masai Mara National Reserve, on a scenic drive via the Great Rift Valley. You will reach your accommodation facility in the afternoon, check in and have your lunch after which, you will embark on a late afternoon or evening game drive.

Keep an eye out for lions, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, leopards, zebras, buffalos, elands, hyenas, warthogs, waterbucks, jackals, hippos, crocodiles and different bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Days 2 & 3: Full Day Game Drives

Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular and most visited park in Kenya famous for the annual Wildebeest Migration (July-October). Spend these 2 days exploring the different corners of the park, checking out the different habitants for chances to spot a variety of wildlife species that inhabit this wilderness.

Optional activities on these days include a visit to the Maasai village for community and cultural encounters or a Hot air balloon safari over the Mara plains, at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Day 4: Half Day Game drive in Masai Mara

No need to get up so early today. Take your time enjoy your breakfast and go for a half day game drive for chances to spot some wildlife action you might have missed the previous days like the annual Wildebeest migration. You can also opt to go for a guided nature walk today. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Naivasha – Visit Hell’s Gate National Park

After your breakfast, check out and drive to the beautiful fresh water Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will check in at your accommodation facility and have your lunch. Later on, you will drive to Hell’s Gate National Park to explore this lesser known but Scenic Park. You can explore the park on foot on a guided nature walk safari or cycling safari.

Expect to encounter giraffes, buffalos, elands, gazelles, hyrax, zebras, reedbuck and different bird species. Hiking and rock climbing activities are also available on request. Dinner and overnight t your lodge / camp.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo

Early morning breakfast and transfer to Lake Bogoria, an alkaline saline lake at the floor of the Great Rift Valley famed for its geysers and hot springs. Sometimes a home to thousands of lesser flamingos seasonally. Retreat from there and have your lunch.

After lunch, proceed to visit the other fresh water lakes in the Rift Valley, Lake Baringo. While here, you can take a boat ride to enjoy the different attractions available here, lots of hippos and crocodiles to spot. Dinner and overnight back at your lodge / camp.

Day 7: Lake Baringo to Lake Nakuru National Park

 Breakfast and transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to one of the most popular soda lakes in the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru famed for the flamingos that flock its shores seasonally, though the population has greatly reduced over the past years.

Embark on an introductory game drive as you drive towards your accommodation in Lake Nakuru National Park. Have your lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

3 Days Lake Nakuru & Naivasha Safari

Day 8: Explore Lake Nakuru

Explore the most popular park at the floor of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya on a whole day game viewing experience driving to the different habitats. Look out for giraffes, rhinos, zebras, waterbucks, buffalos, lions, leopards, hippos, baboons, elands among others. Dinner and overnight back at your lodge / camp.

Day 9: Transfer to Samburu Game Reserve

Early rise, breakfast and transfer to Samburu National Reserve in the Northern part of Kenya. You will pass via the famous Thompson Falls on the Ewaso Ng’iro River for a thrilling excursion in central Kenya.

Proceed to Samburu NR arriving in time for lunch. After some relaxation, go out for an evening game drive to get acquainted to the national reserve. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Day 10: Game Viewing in Samburu National Reserve

Besides the unique and numerous wildlife found in Samburu NR, the park is also a paradise for bird lovers inhabiting over 350 different species of birds. You will have a full day of game viewing opportunities on rewarding game drives throughout the different areas of the park.

Look out for the Northern specialist species like the reticulated giraffes, grevy’s zebra, beisa Oryx, Somali ostrich, gerenuk among other species like buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, impalas, lions, leopards and more. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Day 11: Transfer to Mt. Kenya (Mau Mau Caves)

Exit Samburu NR with game viewing en-route as you journey on to Mt. Kenya area for a visit to the Mau Mau caves which open up to a beautiful waterfall passing through rocks. These caves have a significant place in the history of Kenya’s struggle for independence.

You will drive straight to your lodge / camp for check in and to have your lunch, after which, you will go for a guided tour of the historic Mau Mau caves on the foot of Mt. Kenya. Dinner and overnight back at your lodge / camp.

Day 12: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Early morning breakfast and transfer further southwards to Amboseli National Park driving for approximately 6 hours.

You will have your lunch upon arrival at the lodge / camp after check in. Embark on a late afternoon game drive to get a feel of this picturesque park. Expect to see lots of African elephants, the largest land mammal in the world. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Days 13 & 14: Explore Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is renowned for its vast herds of African Elephants and the beautiful view of the might Mt. Kilimanjaro further on the Tanzania border which provides the park with a picturesque backdrop.

Soak up the breathtaking views as you go out for a rewarding game viewing experience exploring all corners with a game drive to the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro and a visit to the Maasai . See herds of elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, hyenas, hippos, impalas among others. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Days 15 & 16: Transfer to Tsavo Conservation Area

Tsavo Conservation Area is one of the most visited protected areas in Kenya compromising of 2 national parks, Tsavo East National Park (the largest in the country) and Tsavo West National Park (the second largest). You will visit these 2 vast national parks on these 2 days exploring their wilderness and different habitats for ultimate Game viewing experiences.

Highlights include Mzima Springs, Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Shetani Lava Rocks, Arba dam, Mudanda Rock and Lugard Falls. Expect to see hundreds of African Elephants, black rhinos, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, gazelles, hyenas, warthogs, jackals and hundreds of different species of birds. Spend 1 night in savo West and the other in Tsavo East. Dinner and overnight at your lodges / camps.

Day 17: Transfer to Mombasa

Exit Tsavo East National Park and embark on a road trip to Mombasa. With a game drive en-route, you will journey for approximately 6 hours heading to Mombasa. Arrive in time for lunch after which relax and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Mombasa.

Days 18 – 20: Beach Holiday in Mombasa

Early morning breakfast and then head out for a Mombasa City tour to experience this beautiful city. After which, you will transfer to Diani Beach where you will spend the next 3 nights on half board basis.

Enjoy your beach holiday doing what excites you most. You can go windsurfing, diving, snorkeling, water skiing, kite surfing, play beach games, swim or relax at your beach hotel / resort enjoying the available amenities. Dinner and overnight stay at your beach hotel / resort.

Day 21: Departure

Last day of the hopefully thrilling 21 Kenya safari. Rise and shine, it’s time to go home. You can catch a domestic flight back to Nairobi to catch your flight back home or be dropped at Mombasa airport for your flight back home. Thank you!
