Detailed Itineray
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali
You will be meet by our company representative on arrival at the airport in Kigali. He will then drive you and drop you off to your hotel in Kigali City for dinner and overnight stay. Welcome to Rwanda.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After your breakfast, your driver / guide will pick you up and you start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Along the way, the guide will brief you about your East African safari as you enjoy the beautiful landscapes in the hilly Rwanda. Reaching the border, you will complete the immigration formalities and then continue your drive into Uganda.
On arrival in Bwindi, you will have a community and cultural exposure by visiting the Batwa Village. Get to meet this ancient unique tribe and the Batwa people and get an insight of how their lives were when they inhabited the Bwindi forest and life after the forest. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up in the home of almost half of the mountain gorilla population in the world, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will drive to the park head offices for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Head into the forest with your ranger guides for a memory that will last a life time.
On finding the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed an hour with them, take pictures as you listen to your guide for interesting facts about the mountain gorillas. Trek back to the head offices to receive your trekking certificates and then drive back for lunch. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali – Flight to Nairobi
Early breakfast and set off towards the border and into Rwanda. Drive to Kigali for a city tour of the beautiful city. After lunch, your driver will drop you at the airport to catch your flight to Nairobi. On arrival. You will be welcomed by our company representative who will drive you to your hotel where you will spend the night plus dinner. Welcome to magical Kenya.
Day 5: Drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Have your breakfast and then drive towards Mt. Kenya to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The only place you can see chimpanzees in Kenya and it is also home to the only 2 remaining Northern White Rhinos (both female) in the world with measures to save the species from extinction underway.
Upon arrival you will have lunch then an afternoon game drive to spot the different wildlife in this sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 6: Explore Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Enjoy an entire day exploring the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy with game drives and a picnic lunch. We also will pay a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary and Chimpanzee sanctuary to see some of the animal welfare work done at the conservancy. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 7: Drive to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast we drive south to the fresh water Lake Naivasha. Arriving in the afternoon, you will have your lunch then explore Lake Naivasha and the area around.
Here, you will go for a guided nature walk on the scenic Crescent Island and later a boat trip on the beautiful Lake Naivasha where you can spot plenty of birdlife and visit the resident hippo pods. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 8: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
Exit Lake Naivasha n the morning after your breakfast and drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, the most popular and visited Game Park in Kenya. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and then go for a late afternoon game drive to get introduced to wild residents of the Masai Mara NR. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Days 9 & 10: Masai Mara National Reserve Exploration
For these 2 days, you will spend them exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve plains which consist of rolling grasslands, meandering rivers (Mara River) and towering escarpments offering one of the world’s most rewarding and eventful wildlife reserves.
You will get a chance to witness the awe inspiring annual migration of millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras and hundreds of antelopes and gazelles which typically takes place between July and October. Another animals to spot in the Mara include lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos (rare sightings), hyenas, jackals, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles and hundreds of different bird species. Optional activity for the 2 days is a Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Masai Mara NR. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 11: Cross borders to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park
Exit Masai Mara NR, Kenya and depart for Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. One more look at the animals in the Mara as you journey along and in approximately 2 hours, you will arrive at the Isebania Kenya – Tanzania border, where you will stop to complete immigration formalities and have an early picnic lunch. Thereafter, you will continue into Serengeti National Park for a welcome game drive on your way to your camp / lodge.
Serengeti National Park is home to huge populations of wildebeests, zebras, elands, impalas, gazelles, and predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas and cheetahs as well as elephants, hippos, giraffes, warthogs. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Days 12 & 13: Explore Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is one of the most densely populated wildlife parks. With an area of kms there is a lot of ground to explore. The Serengeti plains are the perfect hunting grounds for leopards, lions and cheetahs as they are home to thousands of antelopes and gazelles. By any chance you might witness some predator-prey action while on a game drive.
Explore the Seronera Valley as it provides good game viewing opportunities. The most famous attraction in Serengeti NP is the annual Great Wildebeest Migration which if you are lucky might get a chance to witness it happening while on safari in Serengeti. At an extra cost, you can opt for a Hot Air Balloon safari. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 14: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast depart with a game drive en route through the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En-route visit to the world-famous Olduvai Gorge.
Arriving in the afternoon you will check in at your camp / lodge, have lunch and then visit a traditional Masai homestead for a community and cultural experience. Dinner and overnight back at your camp / lodge.
Day 15: Explore the Ngorongoro Crater and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
An utterly scenic and unique biosphere, the Crater consists of grasslands, swamps, forests, salt pans, fresh water lake and all these combined boast a high concentration of wildlife in the crater of over 25,000 animals and over 450 different species of birds with exceptionally close range viewing opportunities. After an early breakfast, you will drive to the crater rim and then descend down into the world famous crater for a rewarding game drive.
Drive back to the crater rim for a picnic lunch and after proceed to Lake Manyara National Park arriving in the late afternoon, Check in at your camp / lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 16: Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park to Zanzibar
Stretching for 50km along the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem. Breakfast and morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park famous for its large population of African elephants and the unique tree climbing lions that you can spot while on the game drive among other animals: buffalos, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, impalas, water bucks, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys and also boosts of over 400 species of birds including huge flocks of flamingos that flock the shores of Lake Manyara in season.
After the game drive, you will be driven to the airstrip for your domestic flight to the beach paradise, Zanzibar where you will be picked and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town for dinner and overnight.
Day 17: Stone Town and Spice Tour
The driver will pick you from your hotel / resort after breakfast and then you head out for a tour of Stone Town, the Cultural and Historical basket of Zanzibar and a world heritage site. There is so much to explore and discover. Highlights include the Sultan’s Palace, House of Wonders, the Africa House, Jamituri Gardens, the Anglican Church of Christ and a visit to the Old Fort. Lunch break and shopping opportunities.
You will also have a chance to taste and smell the different spices while on the delicious Spice Tour. You will get to know why Zanzibar is sometimes called the “Spice Island”. Forodhani Gardens is worth a visit. At the end of the day, you will transfer to Zanzibar coast for a beach holiday. Dinner and overnight stay at your beach hotel / resort.
Days 18-20: Beach Holiday – Zanzibar
Sun, beach and sea. Time to take off your shoes relax and unwind at the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar. Reminisce as you spend your remaining days in Zanzibar at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your beach hotel / resort.
Day 21: Departure
After a delicious breakfast, check out and drive to the airport in Zanzibar to catch your international flight back home.
