Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Orphanage & Giraffe Center
Rest in well from your flight the previous day. Our company driver / guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive you to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Orphanage.
Well known for its rescue, rehabilitation and protection of orphaned elephants, the Orphanage also protects rhinos (an endangered species).
The orphanage is open to the public for 1 hour every day (11am – 12pm) an informative and educative visit. After the visit head out for a lunch break.
Later on you will visit the Giraffe Center home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe which also doubles as a Nature Education Center. Open to the public from9am-5pm.
While here you get a chance to tough and feed the giraffes and also take a walk on the Nature trail that leads to Gogo River. Retreat from the activity and transfer back to your hotel / lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Hell’s Gate National Park – Naivasha
After your breakfast, your driver will pick you up and drive you to Naivasha for a day’s visit to the scenic Hell’s Gate National Park. Upon arrival, you will explore the park and get to see the animals that inhabit it. Which include zebras, giraffes, elands, buffalos and baboons are very common. The park can be explored on foot following the nature trails, on a bike (mountain biking) or in your tour van. For the more adventurous, you can opt for rock climbing.
Late lunch, dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will check out and hit the road to Ol Pejeta Conservancy a private sanctuary in Nanyuki that protects endangered species like the threatened Northern White Rhinos and the African Wild dogs.
Stopover to visit the famous Thomson Falls on Esawo Ng’iro River, stand at the view point and marvel the falls and the scenery around them, take some pictures and then set off again for another stopover to have your lunch.
Later in the evening. Arrive at your lodge / camp in Ol Pejeta / Sweetwaters for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Explore the rewarding conservancy on a game drive to get a chance to see the only 2 existing Northern White Rhinos in the world among other animals like the African wild dogs, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, lions, cheetahs, leopards among others. Also visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee sanctuary, only place in Kenya where you can see this great ape. You can take a chimp walk or watch them from the view point.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 5: Drive to Lewa Downs Conservancy
With one more game drive as you exit the conservancy, you will transfer to Lewa Downs Conservancy, a safe haven for the endangered black rhinos and the strikingly beautiful grevy’s zebras just about 2 hours from Ol Pejeta.
Embark on a game drive to spot the different animal species in this conservancy, which include elephants, lion, reticulated giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, gerenuk, the oryx accompanied by over 400 different species of birds. Meals and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 6: Game Drive in Samburu National Reserve
Early rise and breakfast and departure to the most popular game park in Northern Kenya, Samburu National Reserve. Drive straight to your lodge / camp for check in after which you embark on a rewarding game drive in this unique game reserve.
Keep an eye out for the Northern special species: gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, grey’s zebra, beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and kudus among other wildlife and bird species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Wake up and prepare for a long but scenic drive after your breakfast to the floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Last game viewing opportunities as you exit the national reserve. Lunch en-route.
Late afternoon arrival and embark on a game drive as you drive towards your lodge / camp for check in, relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park
Today you explore Lake Nakuru National Park, home to the famous soda lake, Lake Nakuru famous for the many different bird species, over 450 that inhabit the park especially the flamingos.
Animals to expect while on the game drive include hippos, baboons, zebras, giraffes, elands, waterbucks, rhinos (rare), and impalas among others. You will go for morning and late afternoon game drives, with rest in between. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 9: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park
Exit Lake Nakuru National Park and drive further south to the popular Masai Mara National Park. Famous for the July-October annual Wildebeest Migration across the Mara River, the wildlife’s toughest obstacle during the migration. You will have lunch en-route
Proceed to arrive in Masai Mara NR in the late evening with game viewing opportunities as you drive towards your lodge / camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 10 -12: Masai Mara National Reserve Exploration
Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular and visited national park in Kenya mainly because of the annual Great Wildebeest Migration the takes place in the months of July – October across the Mara River, a natural wonder to witness for a thrilling adventure.
You will have 3 days in the Mara for chances to witness this world famous natural wonder.
Nevertheless, the Mara has a lot to offer in absence of the migration that will leave you awestruck.
Expect to see different animal species well represented like the lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elands, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, gazelles, among others.
You will also get in some community and cultural experience with a visit to the Masai village. Hot air balloon safari is an optional activity that you can do at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 13: Transfer to Mombasa
Transition from the dusty game drives to Mombasa. Your driver will drive you to the airstrip near Mara with last minute game viewing en-route for a domestic flight to Mombasa.
Upon arrival, you will be picked up and drive to Mombasa for a City Tour. Break off for a hot lunch and continue with your tour as you drive to your hotel for check in, dinner and an overnight.
Day 14: Visit the Mombasa Marine National Park
Time for an aquatic safari, forget the dust. After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the shore to board a boat and sail away to the aqua beautiful Mombasa Marine National Park.
It offers rewarding water activities like snorkeling as its home to beautiful coral reefs and a variety of colorful marine species, diving, windsurfing and water skiing. Lunch break.
Later in the afternoon, explore other parts of the park and then head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Days 15 – 17: Transfer to Diani Beach – Holiday
Ferry and road trip to the famous beautiful Diani Beach. It is time for some sun, sand and sea. Enjoy the white sand and tropical sun in these 3 days spending your days at leisure.
Some activities you can opt for. Include sky diving, a visit to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park – home of the Dolphins among other. Enjoy your beach holiday.
Day 18: Departure
Back to Nairobi. Drop off at your hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
