Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park

You will be picked early in the morning from your hotel in Nairobi and depart for  the largest park in Tanzania, Tsavo East National Park which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants and the famous man eating lions. You will have lunch enroute and then proceed. Arriving at the park in the late afternoon, you will do an introductory game drive as you drive to your lodge / camp for check in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, start off your game viewing adventure in Tsavo East NP with a half day game drive experience. In the afternoon, you will drive back for lunch and some relaxation time. Later in the afternoon, head back again for an evening game drive, to explore more corners of this vast park. You will also visit the Aruba dam where lots of animals can be found quenching their thirst especially during the dry season.

Animals to be spotted during the game drive include elephants, lions (infamous man-eaters of Tsavo), leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalos, waterbucks, lesser kudu, hippos, crocodiles among others. Dinner and overnight stay back at your lodge / camp.

Day 3: Tsavo East – Transfer to Tsavo West

Have breakfast then enjoy one more game drive as you exit the park for neighboring Tsavo West National Park, the 2nd largest park in Kenya. Upon arrival, drive to your lodge / camp for check in and relaxation. Time for lunch, have your meal and then prepare to head out for a late afternoon game viewing drive.

You will visit Mzima springs where you may view schools of hippos and crocodiles cooling off in the cool waters of the spring. Other animals to spot include leopard, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, mongoose, Dik-dik and different bird species. Retreat and drive back to your lodge / camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Morning breakfast and then embark on your last game drive in Tsavo West NP as you exit the park. You will drive by the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary and visit the Rhinos (endangered species). Complete the sighting of the Big 5 African animals.

Continue on your drive to Amboseli National Park, one of the most visited in the country. Arriving in time for lunch, you will first have your meal before heading out for a brief introductory game drive in this picturesque game park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park Game Viewing

Get ready to spot and capture on your cameras hundreds of elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards (rare sights), impalas, buffalos, hyenas, hippos and a number of different bird species.

After your early morning breakfast, you will embark on a morning game drive to have a close encounter with the vast number of animals in Amboseli National Park as you marvel at the amazing backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro (on the other side of the border with Tanzania) that provides a beautiful scenic view to Amboseli national Park. Drive back to your lodge / camp for an evening of relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Day 6: Drive to Aberdare National Park

Early morning breakfast at your lodge / camp, check out and transfer to Aberdare National park arriving in time for lunch, enjoy your meal as you relax and later go for an afternoon game drive or nature walk. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Day 7: Transfer to Mount Kenya National Park

Breakfast and a morning game drive in Aberdare National Park. The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Depart Aderdare National Park and drive to the slopes of Mt. Kenya, the tallest mountain in Kenya and second tallest in Africa.

Arriving at your lodge in the afternoon, you will have lunch and an afternoon of relaxation before you head out for an evening game drive in Mt. Kenya National Park. Expect sightings of elephants, tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, black fronted duikers, mole rats, bushbucks, waterbucks, elands, leopards, black rhinos, and buffaloes.

The mountain itself is an awe-inspiring sight with its ragged peaks, and equatorial snow. Retire to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Optional activity: Guided nature walk and birdwatching at an extra cost

Day 8: Transfer to Sweetwaters Game Reserve / Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Wake up early enough have your breakfast and then drive to the base of Africa’s second highest mountain, Mt Kenya. Enjoy the scenic views as you journey along to Ol Pejeta Conservancy / Sweetwaters Game Reserve. The only place in Kenya you can see chimpanzees as these wild great apes are not native to Kenya. You will have lunch en-route.

Upon arrival, your will embark on a late afternoon game drive with a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and chances to encounter the big 5 African animals. Retreat from the activity and drive to your accommodation facility for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Leave Sweetwaters / Ol Pejeta Conservancy with an en-route game drive for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Relax and later have a late afternoon game drive in the birder’s haven, Lake Nakuru National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Pre-sunrise game drive for a chance to spot the predators that call Lake Nakuru NP home (occasionally leopards, lions, hyenas) feasting on their morning hunt or on a hunting spree. Drive back to your lodge for breakfast, after which you will exit Lake Nakuru NP with one last game drive with cameras ready to capture the last action moments.

Have lunch upon arrival in Lake Naivasha and after go for an afternoon refreshing boat safari on the beautiful Lake Naivasha to view schools of hippos submerged in the lake, different bird species, and buffalos, antelopes grazing or quenching their thirst at the Lake shores.

Day 11: Visit the Hell’s Gate and Relaxation

After your breakfast at your accommodation in Lake Naivasha, drive to the neighboring Hell’s Gate NP and explore the scenic park on foot or hire bicycles and ride amid gracefully grazing gazelles and the larger antelopes. Only park in Kenya where this on foot wildlife experience is possible.

Enjoy the delightful experience. For the more adventurous, hiking and rock climbing activities are available on request. Drive back to your lodge / camp and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views of the wilderness. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.

Day 12: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Early morning breakfast, check out and then proceed with your safari to the famous Masai Mara National Park. Arriving at your camp in the afternoon, you will be on time for lunch. Have your meal and after embark on a late afternoon game drive in the vast plains of Masai Mara National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Days 13 & 14: Full day game drives in Masai Mara

You will spend these 2 days traversing and roaming around to different corners of the great Masai Mara National Reserve. Expect to see elephants, buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, hippos, hyenas, crocodiles among others and different species of birds.

If you are lucky enough, you might watch the famous annual wildebeest migration well known to this game reserve happen depending on the time of the year you have visited the park and if you are at the right place, at the right time. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.

Day 15: Transfer to Nairobi

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy the ride as you take some more amazing pictures on your last drive through the Mara plains. You can have a stopover en-route to buy some souvenirs. Drop off in Nairobi or the airport to catch your flight back home.
