Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kampala
Our company driver / guide will pick you up from the airport in Entebbe and drive you to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Welcome to the Pearl of Africa. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge / hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning departure from Kampala after your breakfast. Drive to the South Western part of Uganda heading towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the surviving mountain gorillas (endangered species) in the world.
Enjoy the different views and vegetation along the way. You will have have your first stopovers in Kayabwe at the Equator line and another stop for lunch in Mbarara. Reach Bwindi in the evening and drive straight to your lodge for check in. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
As early as 7:30 am, you will be at the park head offices for briefing and allocation of a gorilla family that you will trek today. Led by a ranger guide, you will enter the dense forest of Bwindi in search of these amazing apes. Enjoy the sounds of the birds in the forest as you trek along. On coming across the mountain gorillas, you will spend a whole hour with them, watching them and taking pictures as you listen to your guide telling you about their behaviors.
Retreat from the 2-8 hour long trek and return to the office for your certificates before you drive back to your lodge for lunch, refreshment and relaxation, You can opt to go for a village walk later in the evening.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali – Nairobi
Early morning breakfast and transfer to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda for you international flight to Nairobi Kenya to continue with your wildlife safari.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative in Kenya who will drive you to your hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, one of the most visited animal parks in Kenya, famous for its big game – lions, leopards (rare sights), buffalos, rhino and a vast population of African elephants together with cheetahs are the main attractions – and for its picturesque scenic beauty. Arriving in time for lunch.
Enjoy your game drive in Amboseli National Park with the mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro in sight further at the Tanzania border. Expect to see hundreds of elephants, zebras, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, hippos and a number of different bird species. Dinner and overnight stay back at your lodge / camp.
Day 6: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Pre-sunrise game drive in Amboseli National Park. Return to the lodge for breakfast, after which you exit the scenic park and transfer to Tarangire National Park, home to the African elephants in Tanzania.
Drive to the Namanga border, stop and clear the immigration formalities then after cross the border and drive to Arusha where you will stop to have a delicious lunch before you continue to Tarangire National Park. On entering the national park, embark on a game drive expecting to see the big cats (lions, cheetahs and leopards), hyenas, the oryx, gerenuk, zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos and more. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 7: Exit to Lake Manyara National Park
After your breakfast, check out and exit the Tarangire NP doing a morning game drive as you drive towards Lake Manyara National Park famous for the unique tree climbing lions.
Embark straight away on an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara NP with a breakoff for lunch at an allocated picnic site. Animals to spot while on the drive include elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, impalas, giraffes, hippos and thousands of flamingos that flock the lake seasonally and other species of birds. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater and then to Serengeti National Park
Morning breakfast and departure to Ngorongoro arriving in approximately 2 hours. Drive to the crater rim and make a scenic descend of about 600m down into the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater flow for a spectacular game viewing experience. Being home to over 25,000 large animals (elephants, wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, gazelles, elands, black rhinos, leopards, hyenas, jackals, reedbucks), over 450 different bird species and a dense population of lions, the game drive at the floor of the crater is set to be greatly rewarding with chances of seeing all the members of the Big 5 African animals.
Ascend to the crater rim to have your lunch at a designated picnic spot with amazing views of the crater, after which you will proceed to Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 9: Full day exploration of the Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park is the most visited and famous park in Tanzania because of its annual Wildebeest Migration where millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras and hundreds of antelopes make the great trek in search of greener pastures.
You can opt to carry packed picnic lunch that you will have at a designated picnic spot for a full day game drive in the wild or choose to have a lunch break back at your camp / lodge. Animals in the Serengeti include the wildebeests, lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, black rhinos (rare sightings), gazelles, giraffes, zebras, elands, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes and much more plus different species of birds. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya
From the most famous park in Tanzania to the most famous park in Kenya, Masai Mara National Reserve. After your breakfast, you will drive to the Kenya / Tanzania border (Isebania border) and clear the immigration formalities before crossing over to the Mara plains.
Also famous for the wildebeest migration across the famous Mara River in the months of July-October. The toughest obstacle of the animals during the migration. Action packed with predator and prey action. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 11: Masai Mara National Reserve Game Viewing Extravaganza
Rise and shine with the animals in Masai Mara NR while on a pre-sunrise / pre-breakfast game drive. Chances to see the predators and or big cats feasting on their morning hunt. Watch the park come to life at sunrise and see the animals prepare to start their day in the wilderness.
Drive back to the lodge / camp for breakfast. You can opt to spend the morning at leisure, relaxing. After go for a late afternoon game drive or immediately after breakfast. Pack your lunch boxes and spend the rest of the day exploring the Mara plains for exciting game viewing opportunities. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 12: Departure
Last day of your stay in the wilderness. After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy the exit drive as you take some more amazing pictures. You can have a stopover en-route to buy some souvenirs. Drop off in Nairobi or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
